| Mason--Dog Number Ten
Mason was rescued from Hurricane Katrina. When we heard about him and his drive, we jumped at the chance to bring him to North Carolina and turn him from a rescued dog into a rescue dog. The Massachusetts Masonic Lodges' CHIP (Child ID) Program (www.mychip.org) donated the funds that allowed us to complete this beautiful dog's transformation. Officer Bill Bailey of the Dracut, Massachusetts Police Department arrived at our facility in March of 2006. He and Mason took to each other immediately. Mason's first call-out was for an elderly woman who was missing. While Mason did not find her, he did successfully trail her. It turns out that a friend of hers had picked her up in a car and driven her down the road to a store. They then returned to the friend's house, which was located between the missing woman's home and the store. The trail Mason had followed had been left by the woman as she rode in the car to the store! |
