Officer Chris Getsinger of the Anderson, South Carolina Police Department already knew his dog, Drake. Drake was given to him as a young dog with no training. Chris contacted Canines for Kids, Inc. about training Drake for him. We agreed to take Drake as a donation, and in turn, train him and donate him to the Anderson Police Department. Drake came to Canines for Kids, Inc. in March of 2006. In September of 2006, Chris came to our facility and went through two weeks of intensive training--learning to read Drake's body language as well as figuring out when Drake needed help if he had gotten off the trail. They graduated at the end of September and headed back to Anderson to begin their partnership.
